Unfreakinbelieveable night!!!! The whole sound was great. A couple of pleasant surprises and major intensity from the band, high energy and good vibes in the crowd. I just love all you guys. _________________ Ignore that man behind the curtain |

Hey man that was AWWEEEESOME last night...very very relaxed and over the top as far as preformance goes. I still have to replay the highlights over a few times in my head before I am more specific. I do know that Cause and then the ENCORE - High Hopes - were mind blowing.
Super 400 has defined a plateau of exellence and it seems like they are hitting it more and more often since the begining of the new year.
If you were in town and you thought you were doing the right thing by getting 3 more hours of sleep...you made a big mistake. _________________ on a ladder to reach the sun |

Wow...probably the coolest setlist in many moons and not one, but TWO 'new' covers, both Prince songs..."The Cross" (sung by Kenny) and "I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man" (Bryan Thomas on vocals).
"Day Bye Day" smack dab in the middle of set 1!!!
Set 2 was just electrifying, ending with a sweat-inducing 'Cause' and an extremely rare Super 400 encore of High Hopes.
Once again, this band had me captivated by tweaking and stretching and reinventing many songs, injecting them with new life (one of the reasons that 6-7-03 is one of my all-time faves, too).
Great to see everybody again, including the Disco Biscuits fans from down the street at the Palace (and rumor had it an actual Biscuit or two was in the house as well).
As good a Super 400 show as I've seen!
Thanks to the band for walking the tightrope, having fun, bringing the grooves, pouring it all out and reminding me why I can't seem to let myself miss a note that they play.
ROCK!

There are night that are good and night that are special. The special ones are incomparable. It's like one night is Muhammad Ali and another is James Brown. _________________ "I go for the throat - everytime we play a show we're going into battle."

| I think there are common 'features' amongst the rare and special nights. A sense that the band is playing with abandon, the edge-of-your-seat vibe in the room, the way time itself seems to melt away, the way the band and the crowd feed off each other... |

Nope, that's the Howlin' Wolf tune, most notably covered by Cream.

I don't know what it was about Friday night, but for some reason it had the old Ruck feel to it. _________________ on a ladder to reach the sun |
